Dear Church Family,

Last Sunday (December 2nd) was a special time for my family and I wanted to say "thank you" for all you did to celebrate our 20 years of ministry at FBC, Rock Hill. So many people worked hard to make the day special for us and those efforts are deeply appreciated. The love offering was very generous and will be a great help at this time in life when our two children are attending college. While it would be impossible for me to name everyone who deserves my thanks, please know that I am grateful for each act of kindness and love. It is a privilege to be your Pastor.

I recently described our 20 years here to a local reporter as a blessed surprise. A surprise because I did not know at age 29 that I would be here this long. While I always believed God had a great future for His people if we followed Him, I never imagined God would do all He has done in this church. I called it a blessed surprise because it has been a blessing to share this journey with you and be part of God’s work here. I will forever be thankful for your faith and sacrifice which God has used to make this journey possible.

I look forward to the future and all that God will do in my life and in this church. I don’t know what that will be, but that is ok because His plan is the only one any of us should desire or seek. Trusting and following Him is so much better than charting our own course. I don’t think any of us would have laid out a plan 20 years ago to get us where we are today...but God did. That is why He is worthy of our praise and love.
