If you knew that doing just one thing would likely have a dramatic and positive impact on your walk with Jesus Christ, would you do it? Especially if you knew that it would not be that difficult to do?
I get it...we hear so many trick questions we're hesitant to quickly answer a question like the one I just asked you. But I'm really being sincere...if you knew that doing something you are very capable of doing would greatly increase the likelihood of you being a more faithful disciple of Jesus, would you do it?
Are you ready to find out what that one thing is? Are you sure?
OK, but first let me tell you how I know that doing this one thing will make a difference.
Last month we conducted an online survey of our church members and nearly 500 of you responded. That is a great response. What did we learn?
We learned that 93.4% of people who normally attend both worship and Sunday School at First Baptist attend on average three or four times a month, compared to only 56.2% of persons who normally attend only worship. That's not all!
We learned that persons who normally attend both worship and Sunday School are three times more likely to volunteer their services in a ministry of some kind. So what does all this mean?
It means that regular participation in a small group of some kind greatly increases the likelihood that a person will faithfully attend worship and use their talents to serve in the name of Jesus. Two things that a growing Christian will do is worship and serve.
So what is the one thing that will help your spiritual life? Here it is - regular attendance in Sunday School or a small group. That's what the facts tell us.
Now that you know what that one thing is...and you know you can do it...will you? Try it this coming Sunday. You might discover you actually like it.
Maybe some of you who do attend Sunday School could share with us in the "comments" below why you enjoy Sunday School and how God uses it to bless you. Your comment might encourage somebody else.

Sunday School is where you get fed the word of God in a supportive environment while creating long-lasting friendships. It is a place where you find acceptance and are loved by people who love Jesus just like you do. It is a place to pray together for each other and your loved ones, and watch the Lord work through those prayers. It is a place where you learn from each other, you laugh together and cry together at times. It is a place where faith and love for God grows.
I have been an active part of a SS class at FBC since joining the church in 2001. As a result I have developed friendships that I would not have otherwise discovered. It's wonderful to have other people with whom to share common life experiences,to pray actively for one another, and to serve alongside these fellow believers.
My Sunday School class and Church blesses me so much, that it makes me feel so humble that I do so little and they do so much. I know I would be lost if I did not have the small group fellowship, prayers and love that the Sunday school class gives me
Life without Sunday School is bleak. I am so blessed when I attend Sunday School and become involved with it. I pray more people would become involved and serve.
Attending SS has always been a part of my life, but as an adult, being a part of SS has brought me relationships with friends that are unlike any I have ever had. It is a bond that truly comes from being sisters in Christ and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
