George Smith Bio

I was born and raised in Columbia, SC. I am excited to be back in South Carolina, the land of sweet tea & grits, at F.B.C. Rock Hill. My wife, Sherry, and I have been involved in children’s ministry since our college days at Lander University and love working with kids. We have three girls, Taylor, our future professional vocalist, Rebekah, our future movie star and Deanna, our future corporate executive. We’re hoping their chosen fields will support our extravagant retirement plans.

I have been known as “Little George” all my life, even after my Dad, “Big George” had to start looking up to have a conversation with me. My relationship with my heavenly Father started in 1980 when I was 9 years old and gave as much as I understood about me to as much as I understood about Him and we’ve been getting to know each other ever since. Called into ministry at camp McCall as a Royal Ambassador I have had the privilege to minister in over thirty States and seven foreign countries, mostly to kids.

The children’s ministry here at FBC is phenomenal and I count it an honor to be a part of your child’s life and your church family.
