What a great morning at FBC. Being December 27 – Christmas weekend and lots of people traveling – I expected attendance to be way down. I was wrong! Attendance at our one service was amazing. We had set out more chairs than usual for Sunday morning to make sure we had seats for everyone since we were just having one service, but the ushers still had to bring out extra folding chairs. God really surprised me.
We were blessed to see one new believer baptized and a young couple who recently got married join our church.
I want to give a shout out to Steve White – our worship pastor. He was at the church well before 7:00 am this morning, even though the service didn’t start till 10:00 am and the choir was not singing today. He has a great work ethic and is dependable. Those are great attributes. Also thanks to Wendy Taylor for doing a great job with the “Holy Spirit” song.
I felt like I was preaching in a revival service this morning. I’ve not preached that hard in a long time – I was winded and sweating. You were great – you listened for 50 minutes. Remember we are praying Moses’ prayer in Exodus 33:18: “Then Moses said, ‘I pray You, show me Your glory.’”
On a personal note, Monieca sent me some new photographs (see below) from Germany of our grandkids today. They had a blast celebrating Christmas. I spent much of the late afternoon and evening tearing out countertop and cabinets for a kitchen remodel. There’s more to do, but I’m off to a good start.
I can’t say it enough – “thank you” for all the prayers for Jacqueline and our family.
