Sunday morning we wrapped up the “Living Life Without Regrets” sermon series and the response has been encouraging. I’ve heard stories about people making efforts to mend relationships, lose weight, exercise, prepare a will, talk to a financial advisor, etc. Of course there have been numerous testimonies from people reading the “Draw the Circle” devotional and how God is growing their prayer life.
We also had several people ask about purchasing copies of the “Draw the Circle” devotional for relatives and friends. This week CBD is running a special. You can order the book for $7, which is a great price. Click here for the website.
During the invitation in both services Sunday, people knelt at the altar and poured their heart out to the Lord. A piece of paper was left at the altar, symbolically expressing repentance and surrender. An anonymous young lady had written her sins on the paper. Then around the edges in large handwriting, she wrote “YOU HAVE WON – IT IS DONE – I AM YOURS.” Praise God!
A young couple joined the church at the 10:30 service. Our young adult Sunday School classes are growing and it’s exciting to see these young families connect with our church and with God.
Hundreds of people picked up copies of our SixIn6 vision yesterday. This multipage document explains our vision for paying our six million dollar debt during the next six years. We can’t do it, but our God can. Please read your copy this week. I’ll refer to some of the content in this Sunday’s sermon.
During yesterday’s services the church unamiously voted to elect Don McGinnis as an Honorary Life Deacon and to license David Bennett to the gospel ministry. Congratulations to both of them.
I appreciate everyone who has prayed for me. I’m feeling much better and was able to get through both services yesterday. Pray for our staff this week. Several of them are recuperating from various forms of flu, sinus infections, colds, etc. We count on your prayers more than you will ever know.
What did you enjoy about yesterday? Tell me about it below in the comments section.
