“I looked around me and saw so many people who were happy and had something I did not.”
“God had to allow something drastic to happen to wake us up and bring us back to Him. At birth, He took our second child to heaven with Him. It was the absolute turning point in my life.”
“I’ve always wanted to be near God, but I couldn’t figure out a good reason why God would save someone like me.”
“After suffering 4 miscarriages during the early years of our marriage, I became very hurt and almost angry at God.”
“I was raised in a loving family. My earliest memories of church were going regularly with my family and sitting between grandmother and grandfather.”
“One night during my bible study and quiet time, I turned to Psalm 139 and after reading how God knew me and loved me even before I was formed in the womb, knows every move I make before I make it and is with me everywhere I go, I got on my knees and asked Christ to help me become closer to Him.”
These are a few sentences from the many stories or testimonies submitted this week as part of our “A Story To Tell” focus. It has been a joy for me to read these stories and then offer suggestions to help members hone their story to maximize its effectiveness as a witnessing tool.
What has surprised me is how God is using this effort to really speak powerfully to some of us. Deep soul searching is taking place in some lives and that is a really good thing.
If you have not submitted your story, please do so today. Instructions for writing and submitting your story can found on our web site. One of our pastors will respond with some encouragement and some suggestions.
I am looking forward to all God is going to do over the next few weeks as we continue focusing on telling the story of what Jesus has done in our lives.
