Trump Wins! Now What?
Many of us are sleep deprived today because we were up late watching returns in the presidential election. What a night! I’ve never witnessed an election like this one.
In the weeks leading up to the election many of us have been praying for the election and for our country. People filled the altar and overflowed into the aisles this past Sunday at FBC as we prayed for America. More than 200 of us gathered last Wednesday night in the worship center for an hour of prayer.
There are many concerns on our hearts that have driven this unprecedented hunger to pray before an election. The overriding concern on my heart has been the Supreme Court. I generally dislike single issue politics, but this year this one issue determined my vote.
I am now praying that God works in the decision making process of President-elect Trump and the Senate to appoint conservatives to the Supreme Court. The future of religious liberty as it has historically existed in this country is at stake and the appointments made by our new President will impact us for decades to come. I’m asking you to join me in praying today and each day to come for these future appointments. I’m also asking you to join me in giving thanks to God that we are now more likely to have a conservative Supreme Court.
Finally I’m asking you to join me in praying for President-elect Trump, Hillary Clinton, and everyone else who will have influence on our country and how we move forward. The Bible teaches that we are to pray for all who are in leadership, including elected officials. It is my hope that the passion that drove us to pray for our country leading up to this election also drives us to continue praying for America.
So Trump won! Now what? We keep praying and trusting God – that’s what.

PS Now more than ever I urge you to participate in our Prayer Empowering Weekend on November 18-20.
Same with me….i prayed in both events. The people I was with on both occasions poured their hearts out desperately asking forgiveness from God for the sins of our nation. Our Lord and Saviour heard from heaven, forgave our sins and now we must continue to pray His good will to heal our land.
