Monieca and I made a quick trip to Ky Thursday and were reminded how beautiful the mountains are in the fall. It was an especially beautiful drive Sunday as we returned to Rock Hill in time for me to lead the My Hope with Billy Graham training @ FBC Sunday evening. That got me thinking about the other beautiful places and things I’ve seen in this world that our God created. Some that came to mind were the Grand Canyon from the ground and from the air, Hawaii, the African Serengeti, Niagara Falls, Alaska, the sun rising over the Atlantic Ocean and setting over the Pacific, a full moon on a clear night. Thanks to images captured by powerful telescopes and space probes, you and I know more about the beauty of God’s universe than any generation in history. God really did create a beautiful world and we are privileged to live in it.
Sometimes I’m afraid we forget this is His world, not ours. In fact, we humans are part of this world He created. We belong to Him just like the sun and moon belong to Him. As Christians, we belong to Him twice over because Jesus purchased us with His blood. I’m afraid we sometimes forget that as well.
Each Sunday in November we’re going to celebrate our God who created and owns the whole universe and take a look at our place in it. I hope you’ll join us each week.
You can help me with this Sunday’s sermon by commenting below and sharing with us some of your favorite places on planet earth. What are some of the most beautiful places you’ve visited or lived? Thanks for sharing.
