October 18, 2014 By Steve Hogg Leave a Comment

Earlier this week I read an article about foods that cut cravings and help us feel fuller longer. Since I’ve lost weight and want to keep it off, the headline caught my attention. Among these superfoods are broccoli, spinach, mustard greens, kale, dandelion greens (really) and seaweed (seriously). I’m good with the first three on the list, but as for the rest…yuck.

Everyone I know whose lost weight has to pick and choose from all the available advice what works best for them. We have to identify the foods that help us and avoid the ones that hurt us. We have to have a plan.

The same thing is true if we want to be healthy spiritually. Some things are good for us, while others are bad for us. We need a plan.

That is why I hope you’ll join us on Sundays as we talk about growth – growing in our relationship with Jesus and becoming more Christ-like. My prayer is that each of us will gain new motivation and discover tools for growing spiritually.

To get ready for tomorrow, go ahead and read the first 11 verses of the first chapter in II Peter.

While you’re at it, pick up the phone and call someone you’ve been thinking about inviting to church. I look forward to seeing you and your guest tomorrow.
