November 28, 2013 By Steve Hogg Leave a Comment

It’s Thanksgiving morning and the sun is beginning to shine outside as the smell of turkey in the oven fills the house. This year Monieca and I are celebrating the holiday with our son and his wife, as well as her parents, brother and sister-in-law. It’s a great opportunity to deepen our relationships with Sara’s family.

For our devotion today I’ve chosen the verse in Genesis that describes the moment Joseph was reunited with his father, Jacob. It must have been an incredible experience for each of them. Jacob had lived for years believing his son was dead, while Joseph had spent many of those years as a slave after his brothers’ betrayal. What a swing of emotions – from the lowest of lows to the highest of highs. What a happy day!

We’re going to talk about our happiest days and give our Lord thanks for the blessings those days brought to our lives. For example, one of those days in my life occurred in January 1981. It was the day Monieca and I shared our first kiss. That was a really good day.

Remembering God’s blessings is always a good thing. Sharing them with others can be both fun and encouraging. I hope you’ll do some sharing with your loved ones today. I also you’ll share with the rest of us. Use the comments section below and share with us one of your happiest days. We’ll all celebrate together this Thanksgiving holiday. I look forward to reading about your “happy days.”

Happy Thanksgiving everyone,

Pastor Steve Hogg
