January 3, 2013 By Steve Hogg Leave a Comment

I’m by nature an optimist. When coupled with my faith in God, I always believe the best is in front of us – which ultimately is true. So I’m looking forward this new year and what God has in store for me personally and for our church family.

For instance, I’m looking forward to seeing Liam (Jacqueline & Evan also) this summer. It will have been nearly a year since they moved to Italy.

I’m looking forward to a very special evangelistic worship service @ First Baptist Church this Easter. Since Easter is one of the easiest times to invite the lost and unchurched, we’ve planned the service with them in the mind. It won’t be the usual Easter service designed for believers. What a great opportunity for those of us who are saved to join together by praying and inviting in order to see lost people saved.

I’m looking forward to our niece, Andrea, having her first child. She and Nick will be great parents.

I’m looking forward to our annual Celebration of Freedom @ First Baptist Church. The crowd was so large last year that we’re planning two celebration services this July. Let’s double last year’s attendance.

Yet I know some my greatest blessings in 2013 will be unexpected. That’s how it was in 2012. That’s how it is every year. God always surprises me and that is something I’m really looking forward to. I hope you feel the same way.

Happy New Year,

Pastor Steve Hogg
