July 6: Piazza del Popolo. Attended last few minutes of service @ Catholic Church on the left. Beautiful building, small crowd.

July 6: Toured Baths of Caracalla this afternoon. The mosaic floor tiling that remains is impressive.

italy_16

July 6: Caracalla baths were massive – longer than 4 football fields in all directions. Not crowded like other sites – nice time in a park like atmosphere.

July 6: Stood on the ground of the Circus Maximus today where Romans raced chariots and executed Christians. Felt God’s presence because for a believer it is more than just an historic site.

italy_18

July 6: Circus Maximus in the shadow of the Palatine Hill, where Domitian’s palace stood. It could hold 380,000 people.

July 6: Arch of Constantine seen from balcony of the Coliseum. Entrance to Coliseum is free on first Sunday of month, so we made a brief return visit today.

July 6: Ossobuco for dinner tonight at street side cafe. Very good!

July 6: Bet you never saw a can of diet coke like this.

July 6: Best subject I photographed all day.
