Tuesday morning we spoke to Jacqueline and Liam in Italy via Skype. Liam had just finished eating lunch and the evidence was on his face. After a few minutes passed I asked him if he had gotten the police car I sent him with our last package. He ran to get it, returning with the sirens blaring. The batteries were my gift to his parents!

When we ended the call, I remarked to Monieca that Liam’s facial features were showing slight changes…evidence of growth. She smiled and agreed. It’s now been more than seven months since they moved and his third birthday is next month. He’s growing and it shows. That’s as it should be.

Growth is not possible without change.

That’s true when a child grows. It’s also true when a believer grows in Christ and when a church grows through evangelism. The single biggest obstacle to growth is our resistance to change.

I’m glad Liam is growing…and changing. God is glad when His churches are growing and changing. Are you glad?
