Well – there’s not much to say this week. It was a flat week. No weight lost and no weight gained. I guess it’s sort of like the proverbial glass half-full vs. half-empty debate. I know from losing the first 50 pounds there will be weeks like this. The key is to not get discouraged and to stay with the plan. That’s what I’m going to do.

I have to tell you that being so public with this weight loss thing is a good thing. Talk about motivation and pressure. If I fail, it will be a public failure. It’s also a good thing because many of you are praying for me. So I’ll keep pushing forward.

That is also how life works. Many of the really good and significant things we attempt have moments when we don’t seem to make any progress. We may be tempted to quit. But success depends on us not quitting.

The Bible verse in my quiet time last Friday was Galatians 6:9, which reads: “Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.”

Isn’t that just like the Lord? He gives us the perfect word from His Word right when we need it.
