I grew up in a Christian home with my twin brother and younger brother. From a small child, my parents took us to Sunday School and church every Sunday. They, along with my grandparents and Sunday School teachers, had an impact on my life. I became a church member and was baptized at age 9. I was what one would consider a "good" person and had an intellectual belief about Christ.
However, as a teenager I realized something was missing in my life and was afraid of death. I knew that I had to make my own decision to accept or reject Jesus. When I was 14, God used a sermon the minister preached from John 3:16--"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." That night I became aware of my sins, I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and I put my trust in Him alone for the gift of eternal life. He answered my prayer and gave me eternal life. I was no longer afraid of death.
Now that am in the final season of life, I can face death with the assurance that Jesus has a place prepared for me in heaven. May I ask you a question? Have you come to the place in your life that you know for certain that you will go to heaven when you die?
