I was raised in a strong Christian family and committed my life to Jesus as a child. But it wasn’t until I graduated college and moved back to Rock Hill that my faith really became strong. I got involved in the singles group at First Baptist, made a lot of church friends, and started dating Tara.
Shortly after Tara agreed to marry me, the company I was working for gave everyone their 90 day notice. Suddenly I had to find a new job. Times were tough and companies were not hiring. But my church friends were praying for me and Jesus kept me calm. I wasn’t worried. Several weeks passed with no job prospects. Then I was called back for a second interview with a big company in Charlotte. I had a peace and believed this was the job God had for me because each time I had an interview with them, I heard the same Christian song on the radio before the interview. So when they offered me the job, I accepted. Then as I was walking into work my very first day – I heard that song again. God was reminding me that He was taking care of me and I was to be a good example for Him while there.
The lyrics of that song says:
“When setbacks and failures, and upset plans,
Test my faith and leave me with empty hands,
Are you not the closest when it's hardest to stand?
I know that you will finish what you began.
…
Here I am, Lord send me,
Somehow my story, Is a part of your plan,
Here I am”
I know from experience that Jesus is always there for me and I can trust Him. I’m glad He is my God.
