Richard Williams
As a young man I thought I was a good person. Religion was not very important to me. I was sent to church often, but I don’t remember my parents ever taking me to church. When I got married, my wife was a very committed Christian and she kept after me to go to church with her. I felt like I was as good as many of those who went to her church. But she knew that I was not a Christian.
I finally gave in and went to church with her. That Sunday night, the pastor preached on hell, and I knew then that was where I was heading. So I committed myself to Jesus that night and life took on new meaning.
After committing my life to Christ, I got involved in the church and have found peace and comfort as I serve God both inside and outside the church.
During the next forty years, God made it possible for me to be present in Sunday school every Sunday so that I can be a part of studying the Bible; it has become part of my life.
God is working in my life now. I have been blessed more than I could tell. I have been able to serve in many ways. My passion has been and still is outreach. I love to visit and share my faith, and serve God when I can. Also, I always give an offering to the church – as much as you think you do and give; you can never out give God.
It is a joy to serve a God who is both good and great.
