I was raised in a loving family. My earliest memories of church were going regularly with my family and sitting between grandmother and grandfather. I was taught that God loves me and wants me to love Him. Moreover, I was told that God sent His Son Jesus to teach me and make it possible for me to love Him and others.
When I was eleven, I asked to become a Christian and to become a member of church. As was the way of my church, I participated in a six-week study to learn of Jesus’ love for me and that He died for me. I certainly did not understand everything but I prayed to have Jesus’ love and to have my sins forgiven. On the second Sunday after Easter, I stood with my family in front of our congregation to show my love for Christ and to be baptized.
After this, I participated in Sunday school, plays, vacation Bible school and other church activities. At age 17, my mother’s mental health problems drew me nearer to my Lord. As I grew older my circle of Christian friends and Christian teachers helped me to grow and to realize that I was to work for Christ and to tell about His love and to demonstrate his love to others. I have worked diligently to do this for my Christ even to this day.
