Make A Decision

Sara Rich

My father was a pastor who preached often about the love of Jesus and the need of each person to have Jesus in their life. I can’t really put a date on when I accepted Jesus into my life but I know that I was quite young. During my teen years, I was able to avoid a lot of bad decisions because of what I knew to be true. Though I was able to avoid some things; I still had my times of rebellion. Looking back, I can see how God protected me by ending a serious dating relationship that wasn’t the best and ultimately led me to marry a very Godly man.

In my mid-twenties, I took a class that challenged me to share my faith with others. During that class I struggled with being sure of my relationship with Jesus even though I could discuss Bible issues all day long. At that time I decided to nail down my decision and remove all doubt. If Jesus hadn’t come into my life before, I gained an unshakable conviction that Jesus is very much a part of my everyday life.

For the last 30 years, Jesus has lead us through many interesting situations. We have moved around often and been without work several times even to the point of facing bankruptcy. Through all of this, Jesus has provided for us. Through all the ups and downs of life, I can honestly say that following Jesus has never been dull. I learned to find excitement and joy in seeing how Jesus is going to guide us and provide for us in each difficulty and celebration.
