Tammy Thompson

I am blessed to have parents who raised me in a home centered on following Christ. I believe that they have been the most influential people in my life along with one missionary lady who likely never knew how God used her words.

Every summer growing up our family spent time at youth camp. Around the age of 12, my counselor that summer was a missionary to Barbados. Late at night when the lights were out, she would begin to talk to us about our relationship with Jesus. Her words touched me and I really began to realize that I really wasn’t sure about my relationship with Christ.

I left youth camp that year with a heavy heart and carried that burden for several more years. At the age of 15 one night I couldn’t escape the conviction of the Holy Spirit in my life any longer and I finally took that step of faith, asking Jesus to forgive me of my sins and accepting Him as my Lord and Savior. I knew that I was born again that night.

My life has taken many turns since that day and I have spent seasons running from God and not living as I should. However in every single circumstance, God has shown me through his word that he forgives and His grace is always sufficient. I really can’t imagine my life without the assurance and hope of eternal life.
