I grew up in the church and my mother helped me understand at an early age that I needed Jesus to be the most important person in my life. I became a Christian when I was eight and lived my life as a Christ follower as much as I understood at that age.
When I was a junior in high school a college student came and lived in our home for the summer while working in our church as a youth worker. We became close friends. Through her actions, speech and the way she lived daily, she showed me what it was like to walk closely with the Lord on a daily basis. It was at that point that I began a very close relationship with Jesus and let him guide my life a step at a time.
Because of her guidance I went to college after high school. I immediately got involved with a Christian organization and met many wonderful Christian friends. It was there that I met my husband, got married and we’ve lived our lives together as Christ followers ever since.
My life has not always been easy. When I was 43, I became disabled and a few years later I almost died due to complications from surgery but I survived because of the extraordinary surgeon God placed in my life. Through everything the Lord has carried me and given me the strength to endure. I know God still has work for me to do on this earth and He will guide me if I live in accordance with His commands.
