Only during the winter Olympics do I watch ice dancing, bobsledding, figure skating, hockey, and a few other sports. Any other time I wouldn’t pay any of those sports any attention. Apparently I’m not alone. The Olympics easily dominate TV viewing, with more than 21 million Americans watching each night.
What you may not know is that fellow Baptist believers are in Sochi sharing God’s love and the message of Jesus Christ. Below are links to two videos about these believers produced by our International Mission Board. I think you’ll enjoy them.
Pray for God to use these brothers and sisters to make a difference in the lives of many people visiting Russia from around the world. Pray for the Holy Spirit to draw men and women to Jesus during the Olympics.
Finally, celebrate the fact that every time you give an offering at First Baptist you are helping support efforts like these taking place in Sochi right now. So “thanks” for giving – it is making a difference.
After watching the videos, let me know what you think by leaving a comment below.
