I enjoyed today. It was a good day.
Five young families participated in parent-child dedication and they had written some beautiful dedications. This is an exciting time in their lives and I’m really glad we get to be part of it.
The 10:30 congregation was introduced to a man who accepted Jesus during the invitation last week and will be baptized in the near future. A young couple also joined our church. During the invitation in the 9:10 service a teenage boy came forward to rededicate his life to Jesus and request baptism.
I shared with everyone that your generous giving has already put us over our $100,000 goal for world missions. Praise the Lord! Our missionaries around the world and throughout North America depend on our support to fulfill God’s calling in their lives. Your giving allows them to be where they are telling people about Jesus. Keep giving!
We continued the “No Excuses” messages and I want to encourage you to take time each day to be with Jesus by using the daily devotionals we distributed. They are also available at our web site and on the church app. If you haven’t downloaded our new APP yet, please do so right now.
It seems there were some decorations in the lobby in honor of my birthday. I turn 56 this Tuesday and, yes, I will enjoy some chocolate cake with ice cream. I’ll also enjoy a big kettle of pinto beans with corn bread and onions. In case you’re worried about my diet – I’m giving up the fried pork chops this year.
After our two services, I walked over to the gym to meet some friends. In route, I was able to meet and talk with a middle aged couple entering the APEX for the LaRed worship service that starts at 12:00 noon each Sunday. Please pray for Enrique and his work with the growing Hispanic population in York County.
Finally – after several unusually cold days, today turned into a nice, sunny January day. Praise the Lord for that as well.
