One of my favorite moments during Sunday afternoon’s neighborhood blitz was watching an elementary age boy knock on a door and invite the lady of the house to our Celebration of Freedom. He gave her the American flag and an invite card with a big smile on his face. He was so motivated by the experience that he took some flags and invite cards home to pass out in his own neighborhood. It blessed me to watch him because he was so excited about what he was doing. I’m thankful his grandparents brought him to the blitz.

If a little boy can be so excited and bold to knock on a strangers’ door so he can invite them to church, why are so many church members who are much older so unmotivated and afraid?

Jesus said we had to become like little children to enter the kingdom of God. Maybe some of us could learn a lesson from this one excited and obedient little boy.

Who are you going to invite to this Sunday’s Celebration of Freedom? A good place to start is your own neighborhood.
