Kids

June 12, 2017 By Steve Hogg 1 Comment

Kids are everywhere this week.  They’re running, playing, laughing, having fun, learning about Jesus…and I love it. It started Sunday morning when two children made public professions of faith in Jesus as their Savior.  It continued Sunday night with the start of Vacation Bible School.  More kids showed up this year than were here last… Read More »

Weekend Blessings

April 18, 2016 By Steve Hogg Leave a Comment

Taking time to recognize God’s blessings, both large and small, adds joy to one’s life.  With activities and technology keeping us distracted and busy, a conscious intentionality is necessary.  To encourage you to say “thank you” to our Lord for His blessings in your life, I thought I’d share a few of the blessings I… Read More »

They’re Just Kids

August 15, 2015 By Steve Hogg Leave a Comment

They were excited and it showed. They hurried through the house and ran around in the yard. They giggled and talked quickly. They jumped from the diving board and the side of the pool into the clear water. They ate chicken nuggets, watermelon, corn, chocolate desserts, and other stuff. They smiled big smiles and had… Read More »

Pool Party and Going to College

July 31, 2015 By Steve Hogg Leave a Comment

My earliest memory of Sherilynn Watts is her playing volleyball with Monieca in the church’s downtown gym when she first moved here after marrying Chip.  That was a number of years ago.  Last night her daughter, Elise, was at our house for a pool party. With just a week’s notice, we invited this year’s high… Read More »

Summer of Sharing 2014: Zapped – Wednesday Night Recap

July 30, 2014 By Christina Loser Leave a Comment

If you look closely around the church you may see it. What is it? Bird seed! That’s right, we used bird seed tonight. Two of our teams competed in a relay race to move bird seed from one place to another using only a plastic spoon. Then in crafts the children created bird feeders. Why?… Read More »

Summer of Sharing 2014: Zapped – Tuesday Night Recap

July 29, 2014 By Holly Matthews Leave a Comment

On Tuesday night 429 people came out to be a part of Zapped! Our focus for the evening was to “Love People more than things”. We are trying to help our preschoolers learn this truth by collecting food items for the FBC food closet and by making care packages for those in need.

Summer of Sharing 2014: Zapped – Monday Night Recap

July 28, 2014 By Christina Loser Leave a Comment

When do you feel most loved? On Monday night the children talked about the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37) We were blessed to share this story with 360 children and adults. The elementary children were able to talk in their small groups about what it means to help others in need and to look for those… Read More »

Summer of Sharing 2014: Zapped – Sunday Night Recap

July 27, 2014 By Holly Matthews Leave a Comment

We had an incredible first night at ZAPPED 2014! There were over 300 in attendance and there was lots of excitement in the air! Our memory verse for the week is Philippians 4:13 and our main idea for the week is “Yes I can Do What God Says!”. We started out the week sharing the… Read More »

A Child Did It

July 1, 2014 By Steve Hogg Leave a Comment

One of my favorite moments during Sunday afternoon’s neighborhood blitz was watching an elementary age boy knock on a door and invite the lady of the house to our Celebration of Freedom. He gave her the American flag and an invite card with a big smile on his face. He was so motivated by the… Read More »

Easter Invitations

April 18, 2014 By Steve Hogg Leave a Comment

I met a young single mom yesterday while running some errands. She was outgoing, with a ton of personality. She was also excited about her boyfriend and the way he treated her young daughter. She had gotten pregnant during her last year of high school and although she didn’t say so, I imagine there were… Read More »
