This was a good week. Busy, but good!
God blessed and His people gave generously on Prove the Tithe Sunday. Giving to the budget exceeded $84,000, with another $14,151 for the building fund and $2,616 for our World Missions Offering. Praise the Lord. Your giving makes all our ministries possible. THANK YOU!
Monday the Chorus from Rock Hill High School (photograph below) sang at the monthly senior adult luncheon. They did a great job. I had a blast talking to each of the students during lunch. Most of them had never been on our campus before and I was able to invite several of them to church.
Each year the memorial service is very meaningful for those who participate and this year was no different. Wednesday night candles were lighted (see photograph below) in memory of more than 80 loved ones as their name appeared on the screens and was read aloud. We sang hymns of faith, prayed, hugged, and a few tears were also shed.
I had the privilege of conducting a wedding Wednesday night for a couple whose marriage God has restored. They had previously divorced one another but that divorce was not the end of their story. They now have a new “anniversary” and a new marriage license. The Handbell Choir had the pleasure of being an impromptu congregation for this wedding and one member even played the piano. What was going to be a quiet ceremony turned into a celebration. Again I say, “Praise the Lord.”
I’m praying for a good day Sunday and looking forward to another good week next week.
Pastor Steve Hogg
