Read the following Bible verse several times:

Matthew 20:28
“the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Having read this verse several times, what is God saying to you?

Answer these questions:

  • What is a ransom?
  • What did Jesus mean when He said He had come to give His life as a ransom?
  • What does this verse tell us about the purpose of Jesus’ life on earth?
  • How do you see your purpose on earth?
  • Does your purpose in life focus on serving your own needs or fulfilling God’s purpose?
  • How does your purpose in life impact what you do with the money you earn?
  • How does God’s purpose for your life impact your decision about this one year capital campaign?

After answering these questions, write or verbalize a personal prayer to God.

Praying for our Capital Campaign:

  • Ask God to create in you a heart that seeks Him and His purpose for your life above all things.
  • If you are hesitant to be a generous giver, pray that the Lord helps you to trust Him enough to give.
  • Pray that God moves those in our church who are in a position to give more than they’re currently giving to do so.

Praying for our church:
We are seeking God’s wisdom for dealing with five specific challenges our church is facing.
Today please pray for God’s wisdom in dealing with the following challenge.

  • How do we facilitate the service of our members in a way that is efficient and focused on the priorities that will have the most impact for the cause of Christ?
