“Mom, what’s the President?”

That was the question I asked my mother when I saw a report on television that President Kennedy had been shot. I was five years old that Friday afternoon fifty years ago today.

That’s about all I remember from that day and the events immediately afterward. Everything I now know I learned in the years to follow. But that one moment and that one question are etched in my memory.

What are your memories from that tragic day? Share them with us below.

While you’re doing that, take a moment to pray for our country. God directs us in scripture to pray for the nation where we live and our country needs our prayers today perhaps more than any time in history.
