It was an unusually warm Saturday morning for March as I walked from the service station to the church. I had left my car to be washed and would pick it up after the wedding. In the foreground as I walked along Main Street were the buildings where a few years earlier I had attended high school. It was during those years I first met Monieca Adams, the woman who would become my wife later that day.
It’s now thirty years later, but that day seems like it was yesterday. I remember her sister telling me to smile when nerves were getting the better of me during the ceremony. I remember lighting the unity candle and giving a rose to each of our mothers. I remember…just about everything. What I remember most, however, is how beautiful she was and how blessed I felt. Thirty years later, she is still beautiful and I’m still blessed. That special Saturday was the beginning of a very special life.
Happy Anniversary, Monieca. I love you!
Steve
