Most Sundays Monieca and I eat lunch after church with our son and his wife. We’re taking advantage of this period in life when we all live in the same city and attend the same church since it’s not likely to always be this way. For instance our daughter was always part of these lunches until she got married and moved away.
While driving home following yesterday’s lunch, I called a woman who had attended our church for the first time that morning. Her family had recently moved to Rock Hill and she had been watching my sermons on television. Since she lived close to the church, she decided to join us for worship. She had a great experience and thanked me for calling, indicating she was looking forward to attending next Sunday.
Later that day she emailed me via the church web site. Again she mentioned that she really enjoyed the service and thanked me for calling. But what really caught my attention was her comment that she had been out of church for 25 years.
Upon reading that I paused to pray for her and to thank God that she had seen our service on TV and decided to attend. God loves her and is moving in her heart and life. I plan to continue praying for her. I hope you will do the same and pray for her. You don’t have to know her name because God knows who she is…all you have to do is pray for her. Prayer really does make a difference and we all need people to pray for us.
I’m always blessed when I hear new stories of God touching people. Our Lord is doing some incredible things at our church and I look forward to all He is going to do in the days to come.
What are you looking forward to?
