Recently I bumped into the same man on two different occasions in our community. His family used to be members of our church, but have been gone for several years now. I’m sometimes a little slow to hear God, but eventually I catch on. So the second time I saw him, I asked him where they were attending church and he told me “nowhere.” They had stopped attending their last church about year ago. I told him about our two worship services and invited him to attend. I don’t know if he came yesterday or not, but I’m praying for him and his wife.
God is always at work in this world. He always knows where we will be and He often creates opportunities for us to serve him as we journey through our day. The problem is that we’re not always paying attention. Like me, we’re sometimes slow to hear Him when He prompts us speak or act in some way to advance His kingdom.
So this week I encourage you to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and look for opportunities to speak for Jesus. You might be surprised at the opportunities God will bring your way.

PS Thanks to everyone who participated in “Reflector Weekend.” We had over 100 attend Friday night and Saturday morning. It was exciting to see those who serve in our worship and welcome ministries renewing their commitment and making plans to serve Jesus even better than they already do.
