It’s beautiful to watch God work.
I led an evangelism seminar for a small group Sunday afternoon and was richly blessed by the experience. But first allow me to confess that I wasn’t expecting the blessing. In fact I was a little disappointed with the response to the seminar. Only six people had registered and only five showed up. If I had listened to my flesh, I would have canceled it. Doing so would have been a mistake. God always knows what He’s doing.
The small group allowed for a lot of interaction and practical application to their personal situations. It became obvious as our three hours together progressed that four of the five were there with heavy burdens for specific people they had been witnessing to for some time. I think it’s safe to say that those burdens were the reason they attended the seminar.
In addition to the training I had planned to share, we were able to help them with strategies for sharing the gospel to each to the persons God had placed on their hearts. We ended our time together praying for each situation and the people involved. The seminar could have not addressed their burdens as effectively as it did if the room had been packed with a large crowd.
I now know that this seminar occurred exactly as our Lord had designed it. The experience left me energized and expecting God to use those who showed up in a wonderful way. Like I said, it’s a beautiful thing to watch God work…even when I’m not expecting it.
