Back to normal! The snow is melting and roads are clear. Kids are back in school and temperatures are closer to “average” for this time of year. Even the last abandoned car in Atlanta is being moved this morning. It seems the south is recovering from a few days of snow, ice, and unusually cold weather.
Meanwhile @ FBC things will not be normal this Sunday. I will not be preaching. In fact we’re going to show a video in place of the sermon. I rarely give up the pulpit unless I’m out of town or sick, so for me to be here and not preach – because I love to preach – says a lot about how powerful I think this video really is. We are going to hear three moving stories of lives changed by Jesus’ love and forgiveness. Hearts will be touched and some tears will flow.
Last Sunday I mentioned that this was the perfect week to invite a relative who has been running from God, a neighbor you’ve been getting to know, or a friend who needs a relationship with Jesus. I said the video is so moving that if you don’t invite someone, you’ll leave the service after seeing it with regrets – wishing so and so had been here to see it. I don’t want you to leave with regrets Sunday. So get busy and invite some people. Use the invitation cards we made available last week.
I’m glad the weather and road conditions are back to normal. But I’m also glad that this Sunday will not be normal. Now pick up the telephone and do something incredible – invite someone to come to church with you.
