Read the following Bible verse several times:

Matthew 27:59-60
“And Joseph too the body and wrapped it in a clean cloth, and laid it in his own tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the entrance of the tomb and went away.”

Having read this verse several times, what is God saying to you?

Answer these questions:

Imagine you are standing nearby and watching as Jesus’ body in carried into the tomb and you see the large stone rolled against the entrance. In the distance you can hear the hustle and bustle of the crowd in Jerusalem.

  • How do you imagine the crowd that had shouted for His crucifixion was now feeling?
  • How was God the Father feeling now?
  • How were the devil and his demons in hell feeling?
  • How are you actually feeling right now?

After answering these questions, write or verbalize a personal prayer to God.
