No Excuses in My Relationship with God

Read Hebrews 11:1, 23-29

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
(Hebrews 11:1)

When I look up directions on Google, I like to see the path from my house to my destination mapped out for me. I like to see the options that I have to choose, which route will get me there quickest, which route is the shortest, which route takes the scenic path. I like to know how many miles, how much time, how many stops. I like being able to envision the journey before I ever get started. As we all know, that’s not how God chooses to reveal our paths when we follow Him.

Moses never knew what was coming next. He knew what his general call was – to go to Egypt and lead the Hebrews out of slavery to the Promised Land. But he didn’t know how long it would take, didn’t know the stops along the way, didn’t know the hardness of Pharaoh’s heart, didn’t know the hardships they would encounter by the shores of the Red Sea, didn’t know the rebellion that he would encounter at the foot of Mt. Sinai, didn’t know that he would never cross the Jordan River at the head of the Hebrew people.

He chose to accept God’s call and to walk each day with the expectation that God would reveal His path. He met each morning with the faith that the eternal and faithful Father would provide direction and sustenance. He left us an example of how to walk by faith.

 

No Excuses Challenge

The No Excuses Challenge is to go wherever God calls with the faith that He has already made provisions for us. Look at a globe or a world map. Ask God to put a country on your heart to pray for the rest of the month.

Kick the crutch out from under your excuses.
