I’m reading “Don’t Just Stand There, Pray Something” by Ronald Dunn and below are a few quotes that really made me think and reflect.  I’d love to know your reaction to them.  Leave a reply and share your thoughts with me and everyone else.

“If it’s big enough to worry about, it’s big enough to pray about.”

“Prayer is the secret weapon of the kingdom of God.  It is like a missile that can be fired toward any spot on earth, travel undetected at the speed of thought, and hit its target every time…Satan has no defense against this weapon.”  (I especially like this image of prayer)

“If we wait until we understand everything about prayer, we’ll never pray.”

“It is possible to preach without being right with God.  Preaching is a person-to-person encounter.  We can teach a Sunday School class or even witness to a lost person without being right with God.  These are person-to-person encounters.  Prayer, however, is a person-to-God encounter.  It is an audience with one to whom all things are open and naked.  We can’t fake it with Him.  What we are when we are alone with God is what we are.  It is ‘the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man’ that avails much (James 5:16).”

Perhaps because I live alone and I have no one I really can share my most enter thoughts or feeling with I find praying to God is something I do several times a day. It is who I go to for all advice and guidence. Inter peace and comfort keeps all the stress and worry away. I am not afraid somehow I am reassured. I did not have that when I did not let God lead the way.
