April 20, 2014 By Steve Hogg Leave a Comment

Easter is always a glorious day for followers of Jesus Christ and today at FBC was incredible. The Lord moved among us and we had two young people make public professions of faith. The two services were well attended and the transition between services went smoothly.

The music was top notch. Matt Newton, the choir and orchestra, and everyone else involved did a great job. I could listen to Matt sing “True Love” all day.

The cast from NarroWay did a great job with the drama and it really helped set up the sermon. The Elephant made an appearance and we finally revealed what the Elephant in the Room is – The Cross and it’s true meaning. It is so much more than just a religious symbol or decoration.

The day’s highlight for me was getting to talk to so many people, some of whom I had not seen in a long time. It was great seeing some people I dearly love who haven’t been here for a while.

Thanks to all the volunteers who helped make the day so successful. The parking lot workers, the greeters, the sound and lighting crew, the nursery workers, to anyone and everyone who did anything to serve Jesus today – please accept this as a BIG THANK YOU from your pastor.

Finally it was a blessing for Monieca and me to have our son, Steven, and his wife, Sara, with us. Sara’s brother from Ohio was also here. When we got home from church, I grilled steak that had been marinating all night and we enjoyed a fantastic meal.

I pray your day has been filled with blessings as well. I’d appreciate it if you took a moment and shared with me your highlights from today. Leave a comment below.
