“By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going.”

Having read this verse several times, what is God saying to you?

Answer these questions:

• What is the connection between faith and obedience?
• According to this verse, how much did Abraham know about what God was asking him to do?
• God blessed Abraham by giving him new land as an inheritance. Which came first: the blessing or the obedience?
• In our personal lives, we sometimes struggle to obey God because we want to know all the answers (all the details) before we take a step of obedience. Reflect on a time in your life when you did this…what can you learn from that experience?

After answering these questions write or verbalize a personal prayer to God.

• Continue praying for the neighbors you plan to invite to our July 1 “Celebration of Freedom.”
