Yesterday’s sermon examined how to pray when you are carrying a heavy burden. If you missed it, you can listen or watch by clicking here.

Each day this week I’ll post additional thoughts and encouragement on the subject in this blog, so I hope you’ll check it out.

One of my favorite verses is Romans 8:26, which says:  “In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.”

Sometimes what we feel is so strong and numbing it’s hard to talk – even to God.  In those moments, seek God because His Spirit who lives within His children changes our deep groanings and moans into beautiful words that are presented to the Father in Heaven as a prayer on our behalf.  I’m encouraged by the realization that the Holy Spirit intercedes for me.  He knows me completely and always accurately presents my desires to the Father.

Never be afraid to enter God’s presence with your confusion, hurt, pain, and moans.  He loves you and will embrace you.
