I’m looking at a Valentine Card I purchased a few weeks ago with good intentions. It was for my mom. I was in the Dollar Store one day and saw all these cards. I thought, “Get several cards now and I won’t have to worry about getting them later or risk forgetting to buy cards.”

Well…that worked out great. So the card now sits on my desk staring at me, a reminder that it takes more than good intentions to do well in life.

I’m sure I’m not the only person to ever fail at following through when they had good intentions. In fact I know I’m not the only one to do so. But my failures are mine, just as your failures belong to you. I must own mine and you must own yours.

When I allow myself to think about it, there are more important aspects of life where my follow through has not always been equal to my intentions. Whether it’s time with my wife, praying and witnessing, or taking care of my health…good intentions are a good place to begin…but not a good place to stop.

I hope this little reminder encourages you to do…something you’ve been intending to do.
