No Excuses in Relationship with Self
How long have you been a Christian?
I often hear from young people, “When I get older I will get serious about this God stuff. I will worry about it later”. The truth is that later gets here and we are still living an immature Christian life.
“We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.”
(Hebrews 5:11-14; NIV)
Shouldn’t there be changes that happen after we become Christians?
Shouldn’t there be ongoing growth toward Christlikeness with our roles being that of disciple and mentor to others beginning their journeys with the Lord?
Are we stuck or are we growing? Are we becoming more Christ-like in our attitudes, thoughts, and actions?
No Excuses Challenge
Take a notebook and spend time thinking about how you have changed since you first found Christ. Write out your thoughts and take time to thank God for His work in your life. Now take time and look at areas where you still need to change, writing them down and asking God for His help. Pick one area on this list and take action on it today. No Excuses .
Don’t do what you’ll have to find an excuse for.
