I don’t know who it is, but this week I was told about a couple relatively new to our church who’ve been praying about our “Six In 6” capital campaign and how much God wanted them to give. God answered their prayer and gave them both clarity and peace about it. According to what I was told – and again I don’t know who it is – they had been paying extra on their monthly mortgage in order to pay it off early. Now they are going to give that “extra” to the campaign instead.

I don’t know how much money it is. Whatever the amount, their willingness to do this says a lot. When I heard their story, I was humbled.

There are so many disciples of Jesus at this church who sacrifice and I don’t know most of their stories. But that’s OK because God knows and they do it for Him. He blesses them. Yet on those occasions I do hear about what people are doing, I’m blown away. I’m reminded that I have the privilege of living, serving, giving, worshiping, and growing with special people. I’m blessed and I’m thankful.

Monieca and I will bring our commitment card to the altar this Sunday and I’m excited about all God is going to do over the next six years. I’m praying for our church family to encounter the living God as each one seeks Him in this matter of giving and being part of our church paying the remaining balance on our loan.

Sunday is going to be a special and significant day in the life of FBC and I encourage you to be part of it by bringing your commitment card to the altar during the invitation. You will never regret being part of what God is up to.
