I recently received two certificates (photo below) from the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention recognizing First Baptist for our generous giving to international missions. Traditionally Southern Baptist churches receive three mission offerings each year: one for international missions, one for North American missions, and one for state missions. For several years we have received what we call our World Missions Offering and divided it between those three offerings and other mission efforts. The largest amount, by far, is given to international missions. We are among the top churches in the convention in giving to missions and receive recognition each year for it. I wanted to share with you the good news that your giving is being recognized. More importantly, you are also making a big difference. Your gifts help support nearly 4,900 international missionaries. Last year 266,000 new believers were baptized in other countries. Thank you for being generous!
