John 14-15 includes several verses where Jesus discussed the Holy Spirit with His disciples shortly before His arrest and crucifixion. This week’s devotions will focus on what He said and what we can learn from it.
Read John 14:16-17
“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.”
Having read these verses, what is God saying to you?

Answer these questions:
- The Holy Spirit, referred to as the Helper, is the Father’s gift to help us live the Christian life. How long does Jesus say the Holy Spirit will be with us when He comes?
- The “world” and believers do not have the same kind of relationship with the Holy Spirit. How does Jesus describe the difference in those relationships?
- What does it mean to you when Jesus says…
- We (believers) “know” the Holy Spirit?
- The Holy Spirit “abides” with us?
- The Holy Spirit is “in” us?
After answering these questions, write or verbalize a personal prayer to God.

- How do we facilitate the service of our members in a way that is efficient and focused on the priorities that will have the most impact for the cause of Christ?
Pray that the ministry leaders of FBC are filled with God’s Spirit and directed by God’s wisdom.
