Read the following Bible verse several times:
Psalm 86:15
“But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.”
Having read this verse several times, what is God saying to you?

Answer these questions:
- What is the connection between God’s mercy and His being slow to anger?
- What is the connection between God’s grace and His love being steadfast?
- This verse states that God’s love and faithfulness are such that He abounds in them. What does it mean to abound in something?
- Name some ways it is good for us/you that God is slow to anger.
- Why do we/you sometimes not feel/behave/talk the same way toward others?
After answering these questions, write or verbalize a personal prayer to God.

Praying for our church:
We are seeking God’s wisdom for dealing with five specific challenges our church is facing.
Today please pray for God’s wisdom in dealing with the following challenge:
- How do we direct more of our resources (people, time, money, events, ministries) to evangelistic efforts that target those in our community who are unchurched and could be assimilated into our family of faith?
Pray for someone at FBC that recently, knowingly or unknowingly / intentionally or unintentionally, did something that made you angry. Instead of showing them mercy you displayed anger. Pray for that person. Ask God if you need to apologize to that person.
