I have a few quarts of molasses in the pantry that my mom gets me each year from a cousin back home in the mountains who has an annual stir-off. They’re so good! I used some of that molasses today to sweeten the baked beans I’m making for tomorrow’s picnic at church. I’m convinced molasses is one of the keys to really good baked beans.

I’m looking forward to all the fun we’re going to have tomorrow and I hope you’re getting everything ready – food, chairs, tail-gating tents, games, etc. Just drop the food off at the designated tables when you arrive and go ahead and set up your tent and chairs.

Don’t forget that we’re also having our regular schedule of Sunday School and worship services tomorrow. The picnic will begin at 11:40 am and it looks like the weather is going to be perfect.

So bring yourself, your loved ones, your food, and everything else you might want to bring and join us for a day of fun, fellowship, and worship. Remember to dress in casual clothes.

And if you want to try my baked beans, get there early. They won’t last long!
