Monieca enjoyed this Mother’s Day weekend. So did I!
The kids and grand-kids were with us, which always makes it special. Watching them interact as their relationships continue to deepen is a blessing. Hearing them talk about their life and the things that matter to them is encouraging when they have their priorities right and are making good decisions.
We ate several meals together, played with Liam and Lilianna in the yard, watched the Kentucky Derby, celebrated Mother’s Day Sunday morning at FBC, and just “hung out.” It was a good weekend.
By the way, I love our tradition at FBC of children and husbands giving carnations to their moms, grandmothers, and wives during our worship services. So many people look forward to it. It’s a great tradition. I’ll give you a heads up – we have something new planned for Father’s Day this year.
We wrapped up the “Future Family” sermon series yesterday and I continue to hear good reports from people who have been positively impacted by it. If you missed any of the sermons, you can watch them on our FBC web site by clicking here.
The highlight of my weekend was not one moment – it was whole weekend. It was having the family together. If I’m totally honest, it was also nice Sunday evening when everyone had left and it was just me and Monieca sitting side-by-side on the couch – that was a really nice moment.
I trust and pray you had a great weekend as well.
