Monieca and I are happy to be home and appreciate your prayers for us while we vacationed with Jim & Jackie Davis in England and Scotland.  Below are several photographs I took with my Canon Rebel T3i 35 mm camera.  All the photos I posted on Instagram were taken with my iPhone, so the ones below are different.  I hope you enjoy them.  A brief explanation appears below each photo.

The Tower of London, the first castle of the British royals.  One of the highlights of any trip to London is viewing the crown jewels, which are housed here.  AMAZING! Photographs of the jewels are not allowed.

Painting of the first monarch to rule Scotland, England and Ireland.  Known as King James VI in Scotland where he became king at age one, he is known in English history as King James I.  Originally King of Scotland, he became King of England as well in 1603.  I share this with you because he is the King who had Thomas Helwys, one of the two men who founded and led the very first Baptist church (located in London) imprisoned in 1612.  Helwys remained in prison until he died in 1616 at the age of 40.  His crime was writing a phamplet asking for religious liberty.  He is also the man for whom the King James Bible is named.
