Last night a large crowd gathered to – PRAY!

It was a powerful evening of prayer and worship. For seventy five minutes in the worship center we sought God, repenting of sins and submitting to His Lordship. We prayed for lost people to be saved and backslidden believers to come home. We asked for His anointing and power on our lives and our church. We observed the Lord’s Supper. There were tears and passion filled our hearts.

Then we dismissed and everyone gathered in assigned rooms with their Sunday School class to pray for requests submitted by class members. Another forty five minutes of praying took place.

One person told me it was the most meaningful Lord’s Supper he had ever experienced. He called it “very personal.” Another person approached me afterward to apologize for having lied to me about something last year. I’ve received text messages and emails from others describing what it meant to them to be there and encounter the living God. It was a holy gathering.

This week please pray for God to show us His glory and power. Pray for Sunday’s worship services. Pray for the lost and backslidden our members will be inviting.

This past Sunday members brought to the altar more than 1,000 names of people God has placed on their hearts to pray for, witness to, and invite to church. Pray that God gives us the boldness to follow through with those commitments. Pray that the Holy Spirit speaks to each heart and draws them to Jesus. Pray for His glory to be evident.
