“It’s hard to put into words what God has done in my heart this weekend”
“It was a powerful weekend. I can’t remember when I’ve been so blessed.”
“I was convicted because I prayed with my kids a lot when they were little, but not so much now.”
“I want my prayers to be more Father focused and I want my prayers to impact lostness.”
These are just a few quotes from Sunday night’s testimony service that concluded our Prayer Empowering Weekend. It was a significant spiritual experience for the majority of those who participated. As one person said, “People who didn’t come don’t know what they missed.”
While I wish every FBC member would have attended, a lot of us did attend. Friday night more than 400 gathered for the opening session. That includes the 70+ guests who came to Rock Hill to lead the weekend. Only God knows for certain, but I would estimate that about 450 FBC members attended at least one session at the church or the home prayer meeting/prayer walking on Saturday.
Now take the four quotes above and multiply that by 100. If 400 of us had a similar encounter with God, the impact on us, our church, and ultimately this community Jesus wants us to reach with the gospel will be significant.
You see this weekend wasn’t just about praying. It was about praying the way Jesus’ prayed. It was about surrendering to the Father and getting in line with His will. It was about advancing His kingdom, not our plans. It was about much more than prayer because praying like Jesus changes us.
For many of us, this weekend was a spiritual marker. As another member said after Saturday night’s session, “God broke me.” Amen and Praise the Lord.
